Wearing Those Clothes. ( Written, Marrian Lemeh )

Surfing the internet, I could not help but notice the trend, a disturbing trend. The whole world seems to be conformed. You can't clearly differentiate between a Christian and a non - christian. One of the most visible ways to tell someone is moderate, reserved, or even, in this context, a Christian, is in their choice of apparel, what they wear. It is totally accurate to match or tell of a person's lifestyle by the way they dress. Why this is a concern is because the body of Christ, which we are, that is supposed to carry the spirit of God cannot be housed in an immoderate temple.

When the vile tore during the death of Christ and before his resurrection, the buildings built with hands ceased to be the temple where God dwells on earth. Our bodies became that temple. Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well, in the book of John 4: 1-42 about this same thing. Apart from doing away with sinful nature, we must carry our bodies with appropriate care, knowing that it is now a temple. The need for modest dressing cannot be overemphasized. Timothy stressed this in the Bible ( 1 Timothy 2:9), and also Peter (1 Peter 3:3). Nevertheless, what we see now is that almost everyone, including kids, feel like they are left out in the chase for inappropriate dresses. This is so much that now, you can almost hardly tell between a Christian and one who is not, at first glance. Almost everyone now seems to be conformed and indistinguishable in terms of dressing and lifestyle, this, including most Christians.

We need moderation. There is nothing to teach the world or nothing that they can learn if we behave like them. I see profiles of ladies, guys, almost nude, or actually nude, yet in their profile information, I see, Jesus is my king, or Jesus follower, etc, something like that... This is not right. The Holy Spirit will let them understand this if they will ever care to listen.
